However, Bhubaneswar Kalita, who was presiding, continued Question Time.

Several questions were raised in the midst of the protest.

It was around 12.40 p.m. that the debates were again adjourned until 2 p.m.

Before adjourning the proceedings, Kalita told protesting members that the Leader of the Opposition (Mallikarjun Kharge) had demanded a discussion on the issue of price hikes.

He further said that the Leader of the House (Piyush Goyal) informed that the discussion will be resumed tomorrow.

The protesting members did not give in to Kalita’s request for an order in the House leading to the adjournment.

The House during the morning session, which began at 11 a.m., adjourned for a similar reason for about an hour.
