NNPP shut down in US, party’s 2023 presidential hopeful screams

  • The allegation against the party was made by one of the NNPP presidential candidates in the 2023 election, Robert Opara.

Opara lamented that a former Kano state governor, Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, and other party politicians excluded other candidates from the contest.

According to him:

“The fact that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress, APC, can get away with such an act in no way makes it democratic and acceptable.

“It looks like this year the NNPP has woken up from its slumber and is heading home. But why are they closing the doors to those who wish to run for national elections?

“Why are they asking people to go get forms for governorship, house reps and all other political positions? That doesn’t speak well of our party.”

The former gubernatorial candidate has threatened that some of them will take the party to court if the development is not dealt with quickly.

His words:

“Everyone has a choice of what they want to be in life, just like everyone has a political choice. Everyone has a political ladder that they climb.

“I, as a member of this party, believe that the NNPP cannot succeed with this model because we will have to drag it to court.”

He regretted that instead of coming to save a collapsed Nigeria, the NNPP which was supposed to do this job is playing hide and seek.

He added:

“Nigeria is literally collapsing and the party that should come to its rescue is just playing hide and seek.

I advise the high hierarchy of this party to sit down and discuss a positive way forward. This is because no political party has closed its doors to wannabes, so why is ours any different? »

It’s an injustice against us – Opara

Questioning why Kwankwaso should be the only contender to take part in the primaries, Opara said the NNPP leadership’s action is a travesty of justice.
