DOHA, June 28 (KUNA) — Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani received UAE National Security Advisor Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al-Nahyan on Tuesday to discuss regional and international issues of interest common, the official Qatar News Agency (QNA) said.
Sheikh Tamim also discussed with Sheikh Tahnoun, who was accompanied by officials, ways to strengthen brotherly bilateral relations, QNA added.
At the start of the audience, Sheikh Tahnoun conveyed greetings from the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, and the Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al – Maktoum.
The Emir of Qatar returned the favor, asking that his greetings be conveyed to the President of the United Arab Emirates and the latter’s deputy.
Qatar and the United Arab Emirates are member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), founded in the early 80s of the last century to cement inter-Gulf ties and cooperation at various levels and protect regional Arab states against external threats.
