BJP sends show cause notice to minority leader Jammu Morcha over party’s ‘link’ to terrorist LeT

Facing criticism of its alleged link to arrested LeT terrorist Talib Hussain Shah, the BJP on Tuesday issued a show cause notice to Jammu Minority party chairman Morcha Sheikh Bashir after an order allegedly written by him regarding Shah’s appointment in as a unit leader has emerged on social media platforms.

The BJP also demanded an investigation by the NIA into the “terror plot” hatched against the party by terrorist LeT Shah.

On Monday, Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh said that Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist Talib Hussain Shah had been briefly associated with a political party and had also posed as a journalist.

A political tussle broke out between the BJP and the opposition in the Union Territory after Shah, subdued by locals and handed over to the police, was allegedly an active member of the saffron party who was recently picked as an IT cell and of social media in – responsible for the Morcha minority in the province of Jammu.

J&K BJP Disciplinary Committee Chairman Sunil Sethi served the notice on Bashir, based on a letter circulated in the media, which states that “you have appointed a certain Talib Hussain as the head of the Morcha minority, who was found involved in terrorist activities”.

“You (Sheikh Bashir) are requested to explain your position on the above matter within 48 hours. Please clarify if you have issued an order in favor of a person (Talib Hussain Shah), who is not even the senior member of the party according to the official documents and without verifying the credentials of the person,” the Chairman of the J&K BJP Disciplinary Committee said.

Sethi said if (such a letter was) sent to him, please explain the circumstances under which the order was issued. “Your act of indiscipline, if ordered by you, has brought negative publicity to the party and is contrary to the national interest,” he said.

The notice stated that “your response should reach the Disciplinary Committee within 48 hours, failing which appropriate action will be recommended against you to the President of the Party”.

According to the show cause notice, it has been brought to the attention of the disciplinary committee that a letter is circulating in the media stating that you have appointed a Talib as a leader of the Morcha minority who has been found involved in terrorist activities .

“Upon investigation, it appears that neither such appointment was authorized by the party chairman nor issued by the party media cell which is the central monitoring unit of the party in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said. said Sethi.

The BJP on Tuesday demanded an investigation by the NIA into the “terror plot” hatched against the saffron party.

“As this is a serious matter and of grave concern, the BJP urges J&K Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha to investigate this grave matter by the NIA to uncover this new terrorist plan (against the BJP and its leaders),” the J&K BJP leader said. Ravinder Raina told reporters here.

Congress and other political parties have demanded a high-level investigation into major security breaches and terrorist ties to the saffron party.

The two terrorists – LeT commander Talib Hussain Shah who was the mastermind of a series of explosions in his home district Rajouri and his associate Faisal Ahmad Dar from Pulwama district in south Kashmir – were subdued by the villagers from the remote area of ​​Tukson Dhok on Sunday and later. turned over to the police.
